Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has described the legal action by Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governorship candidate of NNPP to stop his administration from allocating Mahaha Sport Complex as an act of ignorance.

Kabir had approached the State High Court for a perpetual order of injunction to stop the alleged allocation of the Mahaha Sports Complex to the Nigeria Navy Women Association, unknown persons, and others.

He said in an originating summons that he wants the court to stop the state government, the Nigerian Navy Women Association, unknown persons, the Kano State Bureau for Land Management and the state attorney-general from allocating or selling the sports complex.

In a response to the allegations, the state government said, “nobody is selling or allocating anywhere as being ignorantly claimed by the NNPP gubernatorial Candidate.”

The government through the permanent secretary of the Bureau for Land Management Dr. Zainab Baraji said the complex was still in the government’s custody but some portions were given to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to build a permanent site because they were in a rental place.
