A former Minister of Defence of Nigeria, Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN, has expressed confidence in the newly elected and inaugurated President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, to turn around the economy of the old Gold Coast nation.

The former Minister, personally invited to the inauguration of the new Ghanaian President on Tuesday, said the people’s support for the president was overwhelming.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Wednesday, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria charged the people of Ghana across all sectors of the economy to support the new government’s policies for speedy socio-economic turnaround and development.

He implored politicians in the country to work hand in hand with the new president for the collective benefit of the citizenry.

Kayode, also a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, stated that Africa has the potential to become a tremendously developed world economy.
