The Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke, has resigned his appointment, citing an unconducive working environment and his inability to effectively fulfil the aspirations of his people within the administration.
Oyeleke, a former two-term member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and former local government chairman, announced his resignation in a letter dated November 2, 2026, addressed to the governor.
He stated that his resignation would take effect from November 2, explaining that he was no longer comfortable with the working environment and could not effectively pursue the interests and aspirations of his people while serving in the administration.
Despite his decision to leave the government, Oyeleke expressed appreciation to Makinde for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging the confidence reposed in him and the experience he gained during his tenure.
He also thanked the governor for his leadership, encouragement and support, describing his time in the administration as an honour.
“I sincerely appreciate Your Excellency’s leadership, encouragement, support and the invaluable experience I have gained during my period of service.
“I remain grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this administration and to have contributed to its laudable achievements,” he said.
Oyeleke reaffirmed his commitment to the peace, progress and development of Oyo State, while expressing his highest esteem and consideration for the governor.
His resignation comes amid political realignments and changes involving political appointees and officials in the Makinde administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
