Facebook is a social media platform used across the globe, pulling in about 2.29 billion daily active users, with 31,860,000 from Nigeria and a fertile ground to grow one’s business. It can help businesses build brand awareness, grow an online following, gather leads and help to sell products or services.

Facebook marketing tactics can include organic text, photo, or video content, paid, or “boosted,” text, photo, or video content, Miss Emmanuela Chibuzo, who has a Facebook business account says. She says the good part of it, is that it requires little or no effort to create an account and it is completely free. (For those who do not have money to pay an influencer or pay for advert to display their products, they can create a Facebook business account and manage it by themselves).

Meanwhile, those who have little fund to boost their page, Chibuzo says, they can open a Facebook ads account, so that, more people will get to know their page. “When creating the account, please ensure that you include a profile photo, like your logo and a cover photo as well; phone number; email address; Frequently Asked Questions; a link to your website; a brief on what your page is all about; a call to action button, such as ‘Book Now’ and a physical address of your office. These are necessary as it will help to boost the authenticity of your products,” Chibuzo advises.

The next step is to define who your target audience/customers are, the content creator states. “You should be able to give answers to questions like: When do they visit Facebook? Are your products meant for youths, nursing mothers or men? Etc. For me, I have two business pages called Realtor Ella’s blog and Ella Kitchen 101 on Facebook. I like to upload videos on Ella kitchen 101 platform mostly on weekends, because that is when most women would be available to watch my videos and book me to cook their party food for them,” she reveals.

After knowing your target audience, Chibuzo says, the next thing to do is to define the purpose of setting up the page. “Is it to sell your products, to create awareness, boost followers or bring in traffic to a particular location? You need to decide. You may have more than two reasons,” she states.

“Next is to have a bank of what you will post and when you will post them. You do not want to post boring videos or contents, so you must be creative. You should try to hold the attention of your audience till the end of your video. You should try not to start with promotional content. You can start your conversation with what is trending and then you can now dive into the promotional content.”
