The Rotary Health Communities Challenge Organisation in Nigeria has vowed to fight malaria in the six local government areas of Kebbi State in 2025.

The fight was a result of the recent statistics, which indicated that in 2023, there were 263 million new cases of malaria worldwide, and 597,000 people died from the disease, and every minute, one person dies from the disease.

Country Lead Rotary Health Communities Challenge Nigeria, Dr Dele Balogun revealed this at a news Conference at Azbir Conference Hall in Birnin Kebbi.

According to him, the targeted six local government areas in Kebbi included Argungu, Arewa, Aleiro, Bagudo, Shanga and Fakai to execute the mission of eradication of malaria.

He noted that the mission could only be achieved with the determination of the internal stakeholders, even without the intervention of the international donors.
