Man On 19-day ‘Dry Fasting’ Dies In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 58-year-old man (names withheld) while observing a 19-day dry fasting in the Alagbado area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos.

SP Hundeyin noted that the incident occurred at about 6 am on Monday in the Alagbado area of Lagos.

He started, “The deceased’s younger brother whose name was not also mentioned, reported the incident at the Alagbado Police Division at about 7 pm on Monday.

“The younger brother said his brother died while allegedly on 19 days of dry fasting.

“No foul play suspected, family demands to convey the corpse for burial,” Hundeyin said.

Meanwhile, in another case involving traffic robbery, two suspected traffic robbers were arrested by officers of the Command from the Ilupeju Division.

The arrested duo of Wasiu Olarenwaju ‘m’ aged 39, and Adeolu Adeyemo ‘m’ aged 30 were apprehended while attempting to rob a driver whose vehicle had broken down at Anthony Bridge, Ilupeju.

The police imagemaker added that investigation is ongoing in the incident.
