Man United Sell Pieces Of Historic Old Trafford Turf For £125

Manchester United have put pieces of the historic Old Trafford pitch up for sale, with each 7x7cm section priced at £125, according to BBC Sport.

The first batch of turf, preserved inside glass cubes and presented in black cases, has already sold out.

The initiative comes as the club continues to deal with a debt burden of more than £1bn, despite reporting record revenue for the 2025–26 financial year.

United recorded revenue of £677.6m and an operating profit of £22.6m for the year, although the club still posted a pre-tax loss of £43m.

The club also confirmed that £63.5m had been spent acquiring land for a proposed new stadium, with the project expected to cost more than £2bn.

The Old Trafford pitch was dug up this summer for the first time in 14 years and stripped back to its foundations as part of the club’s ongoing stadium plans.

Sections of the historic playing surface were preserved and turned into memorabilia for supporters.

Manchester United described the glass-cased turf as a “priceless memento” of iconic matches played at Old Trafford and an opportunity for fans to preserve memories of matchdays at the stadium.

The sale gives supporters the opportunity to own a small piece of the ground that has hosted generations of Manchester United players and some of the club’s most memorable matches.

The move comes as the club prepares for a potential new stadium development while Old Trafford continues to serve as United’s home.
