Following last week attacks on some Communities in Mangu, LGA of Plateau state which led to the death of 150 people by suspected fulani militia, the Chairman Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi has also alleged that 100 fulani were killed by Mwaghavul people saying it is a planned and coordinated genocide attack to anihilated fulani from their lands.
MACBAN further alleged that Berom and Tarok tribal mercenaries who are experts in cattle rustling are being hired and imported into Mangu and it’s surrounding Communities in large numbers to cause mayhem.
He argued that with the coming of this mercenaries, it is possible that there will be isolated killings and cattle rustling will become the order of the day.
MACBAN stated this in a statement issued in Jos also said over two hundred(200) fulani women, children and aged are still missing in the area. He alleged that 100 death bodies are still laying in the bush while 25000 livestock are also missing.
He further said 1000 cows were recovered from cattle rustlers with assistance of the security agencies and appeal to the security againces to give them back up to be able to evacuate their death bodies for proper burial.
But Mwaghavul Developement Association (MDA), and Ngwang Ishi O’Tarok (NIO) a socio cultural organizations of the Mwaghavul and the Tarok people of Langtang and Mangu LGA denied the claims made by the chairman of MACBAN, Mohammad Nuru Abdullahi.
In a separate rejoinder signed by director of public affairs, MDA Da Lawrence Kyarshik, said it should be mentioned in clear and unequivocal terms, that the Mwaghavul people have never contemplated any “genocidal mission” against the Fulani, as claimed by Muhammad, otherwise, they would not have opened their doors to accept them in their communities when they fled from other crises areas where they caused mayhem
Similar, the leadership of the Ngwang Ishi O’Tarok (NIO), in a statement signed by Hon. Daniel, Nanbol Listick National Publicity Secretary said that Tarok Nation has completely dissociates itself from the claim and allegation of the state chairman of MACBAN as contained in the said press release and takes great exception to such a baseless and unprovened allegation against its people.
“Tarok Nation is not aware of the alleged involvement of any Tarok son or daughter nor has it authorized any such misadventure in the very unfortunate and totally condemnable situation in Mangu. We will, do everything humanly possible to get to the root of this attack on our people who have nothing to do with the wild allegation.”
