Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo has confirmed the arrest of some of the masterminds of the attack on Agojeju-Odo village in Omal local government area.
Governor Ododo disclosed this to newsmen yesterday after observing his Eid-el-Fitri two raka’at prayers at the Okene Eid praying ground.

LEADERSHIP recalls that about 25 persons were massacred and several houses set ablaze in Agojeju Odo in Omala local government area of Kogi state, by gunmen suspected to be bandits.
Fielding questions on the attack, Governor Ododo said the suspected sponsors have been arrested, and that further investigation was still underway.

Ododo said he was not perturbed by the recent attacks on his administration from naysayers over alleged lackluster and inaction, arguing that he would not dignify them with a response.
He said: “Reacting to noise makers, and those that do not have a stake as far as governance is concerned is not part of the mandate given to me by the good people of Kogi State and Mr President.

“The crisis in Bagana in Omala local government area did not start today. It has been in existence for over 45 years ago, precisely 1978. We are doing our best to make sure peace is restored within the area.

“As I speak to you today, the suspected sponsors have been arrested, investigation are ongoing. They are giving us useful information that will lead to the arrest of other suspects. As soon as we are done with that investigation, the report will be made known to the public.”
