Former governor of Zamfara State and now minister of state for defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, has been conferred with the award of Excellence In Leadership by a group, the Concerned Citizens of the six geopolitical zones.  The Comrade Bassey Ayanga-led group handed over the plaque to the former governor  at an  event held in the Ministry of Defence, Ship House in Abuja, Thursday, describing the minister as proactive and a dedicated quintessential character whom the leaders of tomorrow look up to as a model.

Comrade Ayanga commended Dr. Matawalle for his nation-building efforts and the resilience he has shown over the years right from when he became the governor of Zamfara State.

He noted the administrative prowess of the minister during the conflict that erupted earlier in the year along Forcados River in Okuama community in Delta State, saying the minister’s hands in the peaceful resolution of the crisis was glaringly noticeable.
