A House of Representatives aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Segun Tomori, has commended Nigerian workers for their resilience and contributions to national development, describing them as the driving force behind the country’s economic growth.

In a statement to mark this year’s Workers’ Day, Tomori said the dedication and dynamism of workers across key sectors—including technology, civil service, entertainment, manufacturing, and agriculture—continue to boost Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and sustain the nation’s progress.

“Brick by brick, our nation is built by the dedication and resilience of the Nigerian worker,” he stated, while paying tribute to artisans, cleaners, and market men and women whose daily efforts, he noted, often go unrecognised but remain critical to societal wellbeing.

He emphasised the need for a renewed national commitment to improving workers’ welfare, urging both government and citizens to support initiatives that ease the burden on workers and enhance their quality of life.

Addressing his constituents, Tomori pledged to prioritise the empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through grants and improved access to federal government initiatives if elected into the House of Representatives. He also highlighted plans to collaborate with CREDiTCorp to expand access to credit facilities for workers, enabling them to meet essential needs and improve their living standards.

The aspirant further promised to champion legislative efforts aimed at strengthening workers’ welfare and dignity across the country.
