Kylian Mbappe and former club Paris Saint-Germain are heading for a clash with the forward allegedly demanding payment over unpaid wages.

Mbappe confirmed in May he would be leaving PSG after seven years and has since completed a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer. However, the forward has since been back in touch with PSG to demand payment of unpaid wages and bonuses dating all the way back to February and which totals around €100 million (£84m/$107m), according to L’Equipe.

PSG are believed to have stopped all payments to Mbappe in February after he informed club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his plans to leave, according to Info Blast. The Ligue 1 champions believed they reached a gentleman’s agreement with Mbappe last summer to give up some salary payments. The club also want him to repay an €80m (£67m/$85m) loyalty bonus he received in October. PSG believed Madrid would pay the loyalty bonus but Los Blancos were unaware of the situation and have no intention of paying up.

PSG have told Info Blast: “The player pledged to protect the club upon his departure, firstly giving assurances that he would not leave on a ‘free transfer’ and then if his departure was ultimately a free transfer, agreeing not to leave “for free” (in other words, giving up certain financial rights), which is what some recent holdbacks relate to.”
