Kylian Mbappé has insisted he pays little attention to criticism from Real Madrid supporters, noting that even club legends faced similar scrutiny.
Since joining Los Blancos in 2024, the France international has played a pivotal role, although he has not escaped criticism. Speaking to Telefoot while on international duty in the United States, the 27-year-old reflected on the pressures of playing at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
“At Real Madrid, you must learn to deal with criticism. It happened to Cristiano Ronaldo and Alfredo Di Stéfano — I see no reason why I should be different,” Mbappé said, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. “You simply have to remain calm, stay focused and keep improving.”
Despite early doubts, Mbappé ended the 2024–25 campaign as La Liga’s top scorer and secured his first European Golden Shoe.
Now in his second season, he continues to impress, matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s club record of 59 goals in a calendar year and equalling his tally for most goals scored before the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
While Mbappé has consistently delivered in front of goal, major silverware with Real Madrid has so far eluded him.
As he continues his pursuit of a first major trophy with the club, Mbappé recognises that winning titles will ultimately secure the full backing of the supporters.
