The incident, according to the Kano State Fire Service, occurred around 1:51a.m. on Friday.

Spokesperson of the fire service, Saminu Abdullahi said an emergency call for assistance was received from ASP U.I. Bushira of Dakata Police Division over the fire outbreak.

Abdullahi explained that the response crew from Bompai Fire Station arrived at the scene by 1:56am and found two shops in the market engulfed by fire, “and with the effort of our men, they successfully controlled the situation.”

However, he said a second fire started at the same place, gulping two other shops.
