In a heartwarming development, the Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Foundation has extended its support to a set of twins, Master Munachimso and Somtoochukuwi. The twins were awarded lifelong educational scholarships, marking yet another addition to the foundation’s list of beneficiaries.

The minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, shared this exciting news during her customary monthly prayer gathering in her hometown of Isouchi, located in Abia State. The decision to grant the scholarships was prompted by the joyous news of the twins’ birth.

She said the noble gesture aligns with her unwavering commitment to upholding education and fostering employment prospects for the country’s burgeoning youth population.

The scholarships, spanning from primary school through university, she said will be fully financed by the Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Foundation.

Munachimso and Somtoochukuwi will now join hundreds of other beneficiaries under the foundation, some of whom have graduated and have been gainfully employed.

Onyejeocha, who is the immediate past deputy chief Whip of House Representatives, recalled how she met the parents of the twins Mr and Mrs Sunday Obiekwe who were facing some challenges during the 2023 election campaigns and how she was touched by their condition, and thereafter gave them a brand new motorcycle to assist them in any way.

The minister explained to the parents that there was no other way to assist them than to take the responsibility to look after the children till they become adults, who could take their responsibilities of looking after their parents.

She said: “I am glad to receive the news of your wife’s delivering of a beautiful set of twins. I am going to offer these kids a scholarship to university level. This is one of my ways of assisting the family further”.

In appreciation, Mr Sunday Obiekwe who was surprised by the gesture, expressed gratitude to the Minister, saying his family remain indebted to her for her magnanimity and further prayed to God to continue to bless and guide her.
