Newly elected president of the Rotary Club of Abuja Minister Hill, Rotarian Oro-Ghene Adia, who will serve 2024 -2025 has pledged his commitment to prioritising maternal and child health for pregnant women, child immunisation, nutrition screening, connecting electricity to facilities.
He will also give basic economic opportunities to adopted communities of the club in Abuja.
Adia said he would also focus on economic and community development, basic education and literacy, peace and conflict prevention and resolution, water sanitation and hygiene, disease prevention and treatment, and environmental sustainability.
He made the promise on Saturday during the club’s change of baton and project fundraising in Abuja.
According to him, as the Rotary Club of Abuja Minister Hill embarked on the magic of Rotary Year 2024 to 2025, he was filled with hope, determination, and deep commitment to service.
“I’m very prepared because Rotary is continuous, be also a Vice president as well as Chair in several committees in the last three years; I think that has prepared me for the role that I will take for the next year, he said”.
“We have a whole to put smiles on the lives of marginalised people in the community, and we have our adopted community. We have done assessments to ascertain the challenges surrounding maternal and child health and the increase in mobility the people in the community are facing, and we want to focus on that to see how we can support ANC sessions and immunisation for children”.
“Also looking at the financial challenge in the country, we are looking at the community to see how we can support in basic financial savings called the village savings low scheme, we are looking at how to support the community to raise funds for themselves, families and also to get businesses for themselves this is done to alleviate the sufferings people in the community through the magic we want to create”.
“These are our assessments to really focus on maternal and child health and basic economic employment in the community”.
Speaking, Rotarian Daniel Etameta, the immediate past president who also served as the foundation chair of the Rotary Club of Abuja, Minister Hill, applauded his successor.
