Minister of Defence, Hon Muhammed Abubakar has laid the foundation for the construction of 1,500 houses in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
The minister, who is the immediate past Jigawa State governor, described the project embarked upon by his successor as a manifestation of commitment and good intention to take Jigawa state to the next level.
“During the campaign, I told Jigawa people that His Excellency, Umar Namadi is a gentleman. He is straight forward, prudent and patriotic. That he will not disappoint us. Thank God that today I am vindicated.”
“Governor Damadi has built from our legacy; so many projects and programmes that touch the lives of the Jigawa electorate have been executed in the last eight months. Today, we are witnessing the foundation of another laudable project, the construction of 1,500 houses across the state.
“I also feel honoured and delighted to be invited to this historical event. Thanks and I promise to continue giving my support for making Jigawa State truly great, “ the minister declared.
Governor Umar Namadi said the construction of the 1,500 houses is part of his government’s commitment to providing affordable housing to the people of the state in line with his12-point agenda.
Governor Namadi added that the project has multiple social and economic advantages as more job opportunities/ employment will be generated beside more provision of accommodations.
The governor explained that the houses would be built in five emirate cities and three major urban towns namely Dutse, Hadejia, Kazaure, Gumel, Ringim, Birnin Kudu, Babura and Kafin Hausa.
