The Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo has directed immediate emergency repairs on failed sections of the Kaduna – Abuja highway.

Goronyo who, on the directive of President Bola Tinubu, embarked on an urgent inspection visit to the critical portion of the expressway gave the order.

A statement by the Director Information, Ministry of Works, Mohammed Ahmed said the affected stretch, approximately 500 metres, by the Federal Cooperative College at Abuja Junction in Kaduna, has been causing significant delays in the movement of people, goods, and services.

“This vital corridor is a major link within the nation’s socio-economic zones and its failed condition has heightened the hardship of motorists and impacted economic activities, greatly,” he said.

In his remarks during the visit, the Minister emphasised the strategic importance of the road, reiterating President Tinubu’s commitment to making Nigerian roads motorable and safe, despite existing funding constraints.

He noted that Tinubu has made it a priority to ensure swift interventions, where necessary, to ease the suffering of Nigerians.

Goronyo, on behalf of the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, assured the public that the Ministry has assessed the identified portion of the road and will commence immediate emergency repairs.
