Minister of state, Water Resources and Sanitation, Bello Goronyo has called for the support of Nigerians and other partners to achieve education for all by 2030.
The minister made the call during the 2023 annual general forum of the Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA), programme with the theme, “Education for all by 2030: Advancing CSOs Participation”, in Abuja.
Goronyo urged citizens to key into President Bola Tinubu‘s Renewed Hope Agenda on social inclusion towards addressing youth education and unemployment across the country.
A statement by the director for press and public relations in the ministry, Funmi Imuetinyan said the minister urged Nigerians to address the factors that hinder access to education. such as economic disparities, gender inequality, inadequate infrastructure and other systemic issues.
He charged the coalition to join synergy with the federal government in dismantling such barriers to ensure that no child is hindered from accessing every opportunity to learn and thrive.
The minister noted that apart from formal education, encompassing primary, secondary, and post-secondary levels, adult and non-formal education, institutional capacity building, vocational, technical, and entrepreneurial education, are fundamental pillars propelling a country to greater heights.
He assured that such enlightenment would lead to the elimination of illiteracy, poverty and enhance economic growth.
He emphasised the rich cultural diversity and vibrant communities in Nigeria, adding that such immense wellspring of talent and innovation need to be harnessed for the overall development of the nation.
