The League of Progressive Groups in Nigeria (LPGN) has congratulated the immediate-past governor of Kebbi State, Senator Atiku Bagudu, over his deployment to the Federal Ministery of Budget and Economic Planning, describing his choice for the position by President Bola Tinubu as “well-deserved”.

The group said Bagudu’s appointment to man the Budget and Economic Planning Ministry was a testament to his unwavering dedication, proven track record, and extensive expertise in economics and banking.

According to a statement signed by the National Coordinator of LPGN, Hon. Bashar Aliyu Buhari, the group noted that Senator Bagudu’s background in banking and his exceptional knowledge of the economy were commendable assets that will greatly enhance the nation’s budgetary process.

“With his deep understanding of financial matters, we are confident that under his leadership, the government’s budget will not only be crafted more effectively, but also designed to be realistic and implementable, thus paving the way for tangible development across all sectors of the Nigerian economy.

“The League of Progressive Groups in Nigeria commends Sen. Bagudu’s commitment to upholding due process and ensuring transparency in the budgetary framework. We firmly believe that his tenure will usher in a new era where issues such as budget padding, duplication of projects, and budget inflation will become relics of the past. Sen. Bagudu’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accountability and fiscal responsibility is truly praiseworthy, and we are optimistic that his watchful eyes will safeguard the nation’s financial resources.

“Moreover, we wish to assure the President that Sen. Bagudu’s appointment as Minister of Budget and National Planning signifies an unwavering dedication to ensuring sanity and accountability in the budgetary process. With a strong commitment to combating corruption, Sen. Bagudu’s stewardship will undoubtedly contribute to a more transparent and efficient allocation of funds, fostering an environment of trust and integrity.
