The ministry of women affairs is partnering a Chinese firm, Lima Machinery, to provide machines that will boost agricultural produce of women farmers in Nigeria.
Women affairs minister, Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, disclosed this at a media briefing in Abuja.
The partnership encompasses locally fabricated fish grilling machines, rice milling machines, warehouse-like hubs located in every local government and an open portal to connect farmers to buyers, distributors, sellers and marketers at local and international levels.
Such investment, the minister believes will not only engage the womenfolk, but further empower them financially and improve their agricultural and agro-products yields, giving them time for self-care and their family.
“This partnership makes for a better future impact than what we have been doing with advocacies, meetings lavishing monies while the majority the people the money is meant for suffer.”
Affirming the minister’s statement, Sales Manager, Lima Machinery, Mr Gatsby Kang, said the collaboration with the ministry would boost existing relations between Nigeria and China, while propelling Nigerian farmers to a new dimension of animal husbandry and greater efficiency and productivity.
