The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a Fulani socio-cultural organisation, has suspended the chairmen of three States in North-East.
The affected persons include Bammi Bello Jane of Taraba; Muhammed Hussaini Buzaye, Bauchi, and Usman Abubakar Yirlabe of Adamawa, respectively.
The National Public Relations Officer of the association, Malam Mohammed Suleiman, announced the suspension in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on Thursday.
He hinged the action on the alleged poor performance, lack of representation, and neglect of members’ welfare by the trio.
According to him, members in the affected states separately petitioned the national body over the anomalies, which were found to be true after diligent investigation.
He noted that the Alhaji Abdullahi Bodejo-led national executive was disappointed by the actions of the affected state chapter chairmen, vowing to always protect the interest of the pastorialists.
“After thorough scrutiny and consideration of numerous complaints from Fulani pastoralists, the National President has suspended the following state Chairmen, Bammi Bello Jane of Taraba, Muhammed Hussaini Buzaye of Bauchi, and Usman Abubakar Yirlabe of Adamawa stSate chapters, effective immediately.
“After careful consideration and thorough scrutiny, the National President determined that the suspensions were necessary to restore the trust and confidence of the members,” he stated.
He said the Badejo-led leadership called upon all relevant security authorities and stakeholders to desist from working with the suspended chairmen as they are no longer authorised to represent the association or hold any leadership positions.
“We urge all members and stakeholders to recognise and respect this decision.
“The association warns that any attempts by the suspended Chairmen to parade themselves as members or leaders of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Sociocultural Association will be met with prosecution according to the law.
“We will not tolerate any actions that may bring the association into disrepute or undermine its integrity,” he stated.
