Mob Set Man Ablaze Over Alleged Motorcycle Theft In Benue

A young man alleged to be a motorcycle snatcher was on Sunday afternoon burnt to death by angry youths on Akpehe Road in Wurukum area of Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

An eyewitness, Doove Micheal told our correspondent that two young men had snatched a motorcycle and were seen pushing it along Akpehe road when a lady identified it as a stolen motorcycle and alerted some youths in the area.

According to him “They were pushing the motorcycle along Akpehe Road. A lady identified it as a stolen bike and immediately raised alarm. The suspects abandoned the motorcycle and were trying to escape but luck ran out of one that was caught.

“One of the suspects escaped, and the other one was arrested by youths in the area and was immediately set ablaze before the arrival of the police.”
