The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a staff of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital Yola, Abubakar Sadiq Umar, who is popularly known as Haske, and three other persons.
Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, who confirmed the incident, said the victims were kidnapped at Mayokila Village, Mapeo District in Jada local government area of the state.
The CP said the incident occurred when a gang of unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers invaded the community in the early hours of Monday 17th February, 2025 at about 1:30pm and started shooting sporadically to instill fear and later abducted Umar and three other victims.
The police said upon receiving a distress call at about 3:30pm, the Commissioner of Police deployed the Command’s operational manpower and assets to boost the capacity of Divisional Police Officer, Kojoli Division, for a tactical search and rescue operation.
The Command, while assuring of intensified efforts to rescue the victims unhurt, and bring the perpetrators to justice, urged the public, particularly residents of Jada LGA to collaborate with the security agents deployed to ensure the safe return of the victims.
The CP also charged members of the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
