The forum had female business owners, MoMo agents and industry experts in attendance.

It also included a fireside chat with MTN Foundation executive secretary, Odunayo Sanya; Group Chief Operating officer, RedSlate Group; Nkiru Oguadinma, and the Chief Operating officer, MoMo PSB, Elsa Muzzolini, to discuss the theme: ‘Unlocking Business growth through Digital Platforms.’

Odunayo Sanya highlighted the importance of data as a key component to improve business growth through digital platforms, while encouraging all business owners present to pay attention to numbers.

“It is possible to have all the social and digital platforms for your business and still find it difficult to grow; however, when you have data at your disposal, you can easily deliver value and make critical business decisions,” she added.

Also speaking on how entrepreneurs can leverage digital platforms, Nkiru Oguadinma encouraged participants to understand how different digital platforms work and how each of the platforms can be leveraged to help grow their businesses.

She stated that, “it is important as business owners to have a digital mindset as well as a growth mindset. The digital space is a level playing ground for everybody and there are a lot of opportunities for everyone there.”

The MoMo – Y’ellopreneur forum is part of the line-up of activities to celebrate the one-year anniversary of MoMo PSB’s launch in Nigeria. Some other activities include the MoMo Trade fair which ran from 26 – 27 May 2023, and refer and win promo for MoMo customers, which will run from May 15, 2023 to July 10, 2023.

Since the launch of MoMo PSB in May 2022, fintech has recorded over 16 million active wallet users, with a transaction volume of over 70 million.
