The chairman of the traditional council of Igbomina land and Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Alebiosu, has hailed the steps being taken by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to address the security challenge in the state.
The monarch spoke when he received a government delegation in his palace in Ajase-Ipo,Irepodun local government area on a condolence visit on the recent death of Oludopo of Okeya-Ipo, Oba Saheed Opadokun.
Led by the senior adviser / counsellor, Alh Saadu Salahu, the delegation was also in Ajase-Ipo community to sympathise with the Olupo and the people on the fire outbreak at Ajase-Ipo Kara Market, where several shops were burnt.
Olupo appreciated the governor’s prompt response to their distress call during the fire disaster and for sending a delegation to the community for condolences.
He commended AbdulRazaq’s respect for the traditional institution and how he prioritises their welfare and issues affecting their communities, assuring him of their continual support.
“We thank him most sincerely for the welfare and the attention accorded to the traditional institution since inception of his administration. I am particularly grateful to him for his swift action on the fire incident at Kara market,” he said.
“We want to particularly thank His Excellency, our ever responsive, responsible, hardworking and efficient executive governor.
Honestly speaking, I am not mincing words, using those adjectives. His Excellency is truly responsive.
“Less than 12 days ago, he was here with us in the palace to brief the traditional institution in the entire Kwara South on the state of security, particularly in this region. We were all pleased that he is working hard in conjunction with Mr President and the National Security Adviser to the President in ensuring that a lasting solution is achieved.”
Earlier, the leader of the government delegation, Alh Saadu Salahu, had said that they were in Ajase-Ipo to commiserate with the monarch on the passing of the Oludopo of Okeya-Ipo, Oba Saheed Opadokun, and on the fire incident at the Kara market.
“His Excellency commends his royal highness, the security agency and personnel of the fire service for their prompt attention that did not allow the spread of the fire incident, and assures his royal highness and the community of his commitment to the welfare of the people.
“The governor is particularly grateful to the Olupo and the entire traditional council for their leadership support to the government in the efforts to better secure Kwarans, particularly the people of Kwara south,” Salahu added.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to stemming security challenges in parts of the country, as the recent arrest of two kingpins of terrorist organisations showed, adding that:” The arrest is a clear indication of a prospect that the security threats will soon become a thing of the past in Nigeria.”
