The Onijan of Ijan-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Aladesuyi has solicited the support of governments at all levels to tackle the problem of kidnapping and other security challenges rocking his domain.

The monarch who spoke in his palace during a news conference heralding the activities marking his one year coronation anniversary also called on the government at all levels to support farmers to ensure food security in the country.

Onijan at the conference where prayers were offered by Christian, Muslim and traditional religion leaders to kick start the anniversary stressed the need for the state government and security agencies to step up their efforts at tackling incessant kidnapping said security should be everyone’s business.

“It is regrettable that some of our Obas, the state APC chairman and even one of us here were kidnapped some time ago.

“We need to coalesce efforts and work together to nip the insecurity in the bud”.

On the development of agriculture and food production in the country to banish hunger, the traditional ruler said “Farmers need encouragement from the government. They should establish cottage industries to encourage them.

“Not only giving money to them but to ensure that their products don’t get wasted . These are some of the things the government can do for them”.
