According to the FRSC, preliminary investigations attributed the crash to over-speeding and a tire burst, which led to a head-on collision.

He listed items recovered from the scene to include a bag of clothes, 40 pieces of cow leg, and a small handbag.

The obstruction was quickly cleared by FRSC personnel, who coordinated the rescue operation led by MI-I A.H. Masu.

The injured victims were subsequently taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi for treatment, while the corpses were handed over to the police.
