The award, conferred on the company by the Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA), considered various factors, including the company’s commitment to supporting women’s well-being, inclusive community programs, and overall contributions to advancing women’s empowerment in the foam industry.

Some of the company’s initiatives geared towards women empowerment include the “Mum in Business” in which Mouka teams up with Herconomy, Nigeria’s first Fintech company for women, dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs and professionals through financial services, capacity building, community, and opportunities.

Cash grants were presented by the company to deserving women who balance entrepreneurship and motherhood despite numerous challenges and still contribute to sustainable development growth.

Another initiative is the partnership with the 360 Complete Woman Beauty Contest anchored by the Complete 360 Woman, an online community that supports women in attaining a sense of self-worth and purpose, thereby adding value to women by helping them become the best versions of themselves through self-awareness.

Yet another partnership is one with Gnosis Help Initiative, a non-governmental organization (NGO). The partnership is aimed at providing succor to victims of domestic violence and abuse by improving the living condition of the displaced women sheltered by the NGO.

Speaking about the award, the company’s Senior Brand and Innovation Manager, Yemisi Obadina had this to say, “At Mouka, we see women as a key pillar of support in every home and society as a whole.

“We believe in an inclusive society where women are empowered to contribute their quota to the economy in line with the 10th SGD goal of reduced inequalities. We are grateful to be recognized by WIMCA for our effort in adding comfort to the lives of Nigerian women.”
