Telecoms giant, MTN, through its campus invasion programme, has empowered over 500 students with digital tools and a car aimed at inspiring, connecting and empowering young Nigerians with skills for sustainable development.
This was made known by the MTN Youth Segment manager, Femi Adesina while interacting with newsmen at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
The occasion, among other things, featured gaming competitions, cinema experiences by students of the institution as well as live performances with the high point being the gift of a Changan ALSVIN car to a 500-level student – Nduka Chidera Judith of the Department of Biochemistry.
Throwing more light on the essence of the event, the Youth Segment manager described it as a dynamic and engaging function that brings MTN’s “Go make difference” campaign directly to the nation’s tertiary institutions.
According to Adesina, MTN as an organisation is committed and poised for a stronger, virile position and to support the nation in youth empowerment.
With a proposition which embodies MTN voice data attached, such as video and music services, social media and social media bundles, Adesina added that the empowerment was meant to offer opportunities to students with business ventures to enable them to sell their products.
