The council stated this in a congratulatory message to Otti, which was signed by the chairman and secretary, Victor Ndukwe and Adaeze Ralph-Igbokwe, respectively.

The statement said the council noted that the overwhelming support and goodwill the people have shown Otti is a challenge for him to perform optimally in office.

It further said the council appealed to the Labour Party candidate in the March 18 election to engage the best brains and hands available in the state to deliver his campaign promises.

According to the statement, the council, which pledged its total support for the governor-elect, applauded his hard work, resilience, and tenacity in running for the office.
