It was a mammoth and excited crowd that gathered in Jos, the plateau state capital, at the 10-commandment prayer altar, as music sensation, Mallam Razphil and his unique 20-man band held the ‘One More Soul Concert’ in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Music icons such as Panam Percy Paul, Solomon Lange, Kaestrings, GWills, with his band and others, were on hand to lend their support.
Spectators and reporters have described the concert as one of the largest in northern Nigeria.
The convener, Mallam Razphil, who hails from Borno state, with a distinct style of promoting the Arewa culture in both use of language and his royal dressing said, “this is just the beginning”, as he intends to make the concert one of the largest and most attended in Africa.
He also stated that his style of dressing with the full northern royal regalia, is to popularize the northern culture and help more people learn and appreciate the culture and language.
Among his songs that have been performed by many across the world include Nadodge, Jawab and Gyara parking. His music is a mix of Hausa language and English, with a session of deep poetic lyrics and danceable beats.
His message is simple to the point that even the non-native speakers would groove to the song as they sing along.
The venue of the concert was set in a manner that truly reflects Northern Nigeria cultures, and Mallam Razphil who dresses in The Royal Northern Nigerian Robes (Alqueba) and turban (Rawani) with his unique 20-man band, and their distinct Northern style and Inspirational music, were the epitome of Arewa Royal Excellence.
Every performance had something for the audience who were fully engrossed. One hundred and seven thousand were physically present while twenty-two thousand were viewing online.
The crowd engagement was spectacular with the audience singing along and dancing to their most loved songs. For a town that does not usually hold late concerts, people were in awe as though the concert crept late into the night, the attendees did not budge as they stayed looking forward to the next act, with about one thousand people coming forward for the altar call.
Mallam Razphil’s “One More Soul Concert” brought together people of all ages and races and exceeded expectations in every way. It was an event not to be missed.

This task involved risk taking, having a team that believes in the vision, self-belief and over all faith in God. It is a reminder that nothing is impossible and that with consistency and constantly stretching ourselves, we can make our dreams a reality.
This music festival also confirms that, not only is there a great love of music in the North, but that there is huge potential for growth, with a willing and able audience available for all forms and styles of Arewa music.
