Plateau State governor Barr Caleb Mutfwang has appealed to #EndBadGovernance protesters to stay further protests so that they can dialogue with their leaders to add value to the thinking and plans for poverty alleviation in the state.
In an early morning state broadcast monitored by our correspondent in Jos, the governor said that since they do not possess a monopoly of wisdom, as soon as the protests are over, he will meet with the leaders of the youth groups across the state for further dialogue.
“My beloved citizens of Plateau, particularly our amiable youth, I am grateful for this opportunity to express my sincere and profound gratitude to all of you for your understanding and dignified conduct over the last couple of days during the ongoing national protest tagged #Endbadgovernance,” he said.
Meanwhile, The Global President Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN) Prophet Isah El-Buba has urged President Bola Tinubu to show sensitivity and leadership to the plight of ordinary Nigerians by leading in making sacrifices by cutting down on excessive government spending as well as cutting the cost of governance in Nigeria.
According to him, if the President failed to listen to the yearning and aspirations of Nigerians, he would mobilise again and return to the protest ground to continue with the #EndBadGovernance rally after the relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed by the Plateau State government.
Prophet El-Buba alongside the former Minister of Sports Barr. Solomon Dalung stated this Tuesday morning, while addressing newsmen in Jos on the state of the nation. He said the President should abolish spending plans like N150 Billion for an Airbus A330 Presidential Jet, the allocation of N13.5 billion for renovation of the presidential villa, and or N7.3 billion for the purchase of state house cars among others.
He argued that similar vexatious spending is unbecoming of a president who wants poor Nigerians to show understanding and sacrifice.
