Taraba State governor Agbu Kefas has assured the people of the state that his wide foreign trips are not for leisure but to connect the state to the world, open doors for the state and get connected to the people that have made it in terms of investment.
Kefas stated this on Saturday in Wukari, the headquarters of Wukari local government council, during a civic reception, organised by the people of Taraba southern zone for him (Kefas) in Wukari.
The governor was responding to his critics who have questioned his constant foreign trips, saying that in less than two years in office, he has spent over 6 billion naira on them.
While appreciating the people for being concerned about offering criticism on his government, Kefas admitted that he has taken time to lay a silent foundation within the 2 years of his administration for visible development to follow soon.
He urged the people to remain focused, calm, and supportive of his administration, assuring them of the state of massive infrastructural and human development before the end of his tenure in office.
“I hear people complaining that the governor is always on the move. Let me say this clearly and sincerely: If I don’t travel, how can I connect Taraba to the world? If I do not engage those who have made it, how can I open doors of prosperity to our state and the people?
“My travels are not for leisure; they are for liberty. I am trying to build bridges for our people, create opportunities for our youths, and place Taraba where it truly belongs,” Kefas stated.
