The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, has called on fellow aspirants and other stakeholders to unite ahead of the 2027 elections in the state.

In a statement through his media office yesterday, Wadada said his victory at the primary was a collective mandate by party members and supporters who believed in a shared vision of progress, unity and inclusive development of the state.

Senator Wadada emerged the APC standard bearer in a keenly contested primary which held on Thursday across all the wards in the state.

He defeated his main challenger, a former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, polling 195,285 votes against Adamu’s 39,675, to clinch the ticket.

The current senator representing Nasarawa West urged his opponents to jettison the pre-primary sentiments so as to join him in actualizing the party’s mandate and ensuring its victory during the forthcoming election.

“This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to every party faithful and every citizen who desires a more prosperous, united, and progressive Nasarawa State. I extend a hand of fellowship to all aspirants and their supporters as we move forward together in the spirit of unity, reconciliation, and collective purpose,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership and people-oriented governance, while pledging to continue engaging with citizens across the state in pursuit of sustainable development and improved living standards.

“The task ahead is greater than any individual, and I remain committed to working with all stakeholders to advance the development of our state and improve the lives of our people,” he stressed.

He thanked the party leadership, stakeholders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him through their support and votes in the governorship primary election.

“I am grateful to our party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and the good people of Nasarawa State whose prayers, encouragement, and unwavering belief in our shared vision made this victory possible.

“I wish to specially acknowledge and appreciate His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, for his leadership of our great party and his commitment to a peaceful, transparent, and successful primary process. His dedication to the unity, stability, and progress of our party and state remains invaluable,” he stated.
