Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its airstrikes destroyed terrorists’ hideouts and foiled a planned attack on Eid celebrations in Borno State.
A statement by the NAF spokesman Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame said the airstrikes were conducted between June 5 and 6.
The statement said the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation HADIN KAI, decimated key Boko Haram hideouts at Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia in the Southern Tumbuns, Borno State.
He said NAF aircraft acting on credible intelligence targeted terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination, delivering direct hits and crippling planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations.
“Battle damage assessments confirmed the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of key logistics structures,” he said.
He added that the pre-emptive action underscored the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting national security objectives.
