The Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma carried out a precision airstrike in the early Thursday, targeting notorious bandits’ hideouts in Unguwar Goga Hillforest, Ruwan Godiya Ward in Faskari local government area.

A statement by NAF deputy spokesman, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, said the airstrikes which followed careful and actionable intelligence had a decisive impact on the criminals.

He said additional casualties were reported in the surrounding rocky hills, adding that assessment of the full extent of the damage was ongoing.

According to the statement, Riga and Gero were key enablers of banditry, sheltering terrorist elements responsible for relentless ambushes along the Funtua-Gusau Road, particularly between Yankara and Sheme villages.
