The coordinator of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) South West (Zone D), Comrade Stephen Fiyinfoluwa Tegbe has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele to comply with the ruling of the Supreme Court on the naira redesign policy.

In a statement made available to the press Tegbe stressed the need to allow the coexistence of the old Naira denominations and the new redesigned denominations till the end of the year.

He said the judgement was a very good one given that Nigerians and students are going through hard times in their finances.

“The Nigerian students have suffered vastly because of the scarcity of New Naira note denomination and that has afflicted them with difficulties in their day-to-day activities,” he said.

He further lauded the court for listening to the yearnings of Nigerians, saying that the  judgement would boost the trust of Nigerians and the Nigerian students in the judiciary as the only tier of government that balances others.
