Managing director and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Faruk Ahmed Umar has received double national recognition for his outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to excellence in public sector governance.
Engr. Umar was conferred with two distinguished awards — the “Renewed Hope Champion Award for Public Sector Performance” and the “Outstanding Leadership in Public Sector Reform Award” presented by
the Tinubu-Shettima Support Organisation (TSSO) and the Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA), respectively.
Both organizations hailed Engr. Umar as an exemplary public servant and a role model for leadership and integrity in Nigeria’s public administration.
The national coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Support Organisation, Shehu Huseini Kolere lauded Engr. Umar for his “exceptional leadership and groundbreaking contributions to the reform and modernization of Nigeria’s aviation sector through his role at NAMA.”
He also commended him for significantly advancing the objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that “Your unwavering commitment to service excellence, innovation, and public sector transformation exemplifies the ideals of responsible leadership envisioned by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Similarly, the Arewa Youth Assembly applauded Engr. Umar’s “transformative leadership” and “visionary reforms” that have redefined Nigeria’s airspace management and enhanced efficiency across the aviation sector.
In its letter signed by the national coordinator, Khalid Zubair, the organisation described the NAMA boss as a reform-driven administrator whose efforts have improved operational performance and service delivery within the agency.
According to him, “Your dedication to driving meaningful change and fostering excellence in public service exemplifies the ideals of responsible governance championed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We are honored to have a model like you in our society and the inspiring example you set for both current and future public servants.”
Recall that under Umar’s leadership, NAMA has achieved remarkable progress in modernizing the nation’s air navigation systems, improving flight safety, and strengthening operational efficiency across Nigeria’s airspace infrastructure.
