The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students in Diaspora , His Excellency Prince Ogar John Esq, has commended Dangote Petroleum Refinery for its application of world-class technology in the construction of the 650,000BPD refinery project.
This was contained in a statement issued by himself and made available to journalists on Monday.
Ogar had expressed optimism that the refining facility was capable of redefining Nigeria’s domestic fuel production.
He said the inauguration of the gigantic project would secure the future of young engineers in Nigeria and put them at par with their counterparts in the global oil and gas industry.
“The epoch- making landmark event witnessed the gathering of who is who in Nigeria, and in the African Continent some of whom are the Presidents of nations, captain of industries, business moguls and African and National student leaders who graced the occasion
“Dangote had done a great job with the construction of a world-class petroleum refinery. It is remarkable that a Nigerian company is building a world-class project.
“It is worthy to note that Dangote Group is the second-largest contributor to education in Nigeria; and the President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, was in 2018 named sixth most charitable person in the world by a UK-based Richtopia Group.
“This commendable premium by the Dangote Group on education in Africa has remained unabated in the corporate policy of the Group.
The leadership of NANS Diaspora also appreciated some specific contributors to the success of the project such as GED Edwin Devakumar the second in command of the Dangote group for his over 3-decade commitment to Africa’s Quest and need for Industrialisation, Self-reliance through Dangote Group; and Mr. Anthony Chiejina for leading the Corporate Communications Department in bridging the gap between the Dangote Group and the student’s body in diaspora, continental and National students’ movement.
He, however, expressed hope for a cordial working relationship between the group and the leadership of Nigerian students’ body in Diaspora taking into cognisance the fact that Dangote has Factories in almost every country where Nigerian Students are schooling in outside Nigeria”.
