Napoli are considering a move for Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi as a replacement for their star forward Victor Osimhen who looks set to leave the club in the summer.
Moffi is the third Nigerian center forward linked with a move to the Diego Maradona Stadium in recent weeks, after his international teammate, Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface and in-demand Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee.
The Parthenopeans are preparing for the departure of the reigning CAF Men’s Player of the Year and have been linked with a host of names as a replacement for the lanky central forward.
Lille’s Jonathan David who is the second top scorer in the Ligue 1 is one of the prominent names to have been linked as Osimhen’s substitute and Moffi has now joined the list.
Moffi is enjoying a stellar season with OGN Nice, bagging a goal in their 2-2 draw with Marseille at Stade Vélodrome in a Ligue 1 fixture played yesterday and has now taken his goal tally to 11 for the season.
The former Lorient star is still on course to equal and break his best goal tally in the French top-flight which he set in the 2020/2021 season, netting 14 times in 32 games for Lorient.
He is under contract with Nice till the summer of 2027 and will reportedly cost close to €30m, which should be an affordable price for Napoli.
