The ongoing construction of Akwanga Underpass and other projects in the town would be completed in July, 2025.
Governor Abdullahi Sule made this known while inspecting the progress of work on the dualisation of the township road, as well as the underpass in the town.
Our correspondent reports that Bauhaus Global Investment was awarded the contract for the various projects in the Akwanga town, headquarters of Akwanga local government area of the state.
Speaking while inspecting the dualisation of the township road project, Governor Sule urged the contractor to provide alternative routes in order to ease traffic flow and end the suffering people go through daily.
He said he had a fruitful discussion with the chairman of Bauhaus Global Investment on the need for the speedy completion of all the three projects, including the 5.6km Akwanga bypass.
He confirmed that the chairman of the construction company handling the project assured that all three projects would be completed by July this year.
He emphasised the need for safety, expressing concern over some buildings that appear to be hovering over the construction areas.
He equally demanded to know if the company paid compensation to all those whose buildings were affected by the project.
Responding, the project manager, Mr Niger Ibrahim, confirmed that the company had paid necessary compensation to owners of buildings that were demolished to pave the way for the underpass project to commence.
He assured that adequate measures are being taken to ensure safety at the site of the project.
He said as part of the measures to prevent accidents, the company is undertaking the castings of the underpass simultaneously with the excavation.
He further assured that the projects would be completed on time and according to specifications.
