Nasarawa Assembly Passes 237 Bills, 445 Resolutions In 23 Years

Nasarawa Assembly Passes 237 Bills

Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) says that the House has passed 237 bills into law, while 445 resolutions were passed in the last 23 years.

The chairman, House committee on Information, Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu (APC-Keana) made the disclosure while briefing newsmen yesterday in Lafia ahead of the official unveiling of the House 2022 compendium, 26 years after the creation of the from the defunct Plateau state.

He said the unveiling of the compendium which would take place on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 would acquit the people of the state on the House activities since its official inauguration on 6th June, 1999.

Onadefu said so far, the journey of the assembly is good, adding that the development witnessed across the state was as a result of the bills and resolutions passed and other activities of the House in support of the state government.

According to him’ “the state assembly is ready to launch its 2022 compendium by Wednesday, Oct.12, 2022 by 11am at Ta’al conference hotel, Lafia with titled  tagged, The Journey So Far, from 1999 to 2022.

Hon Omadefu further explained that the compendium captured historical information, achievement and general activities of the House,he however opined that the  journey  so far is a prosperous Journey.

“Journey has been good and very rewarding as we have passed 237 bills into law and 445 resolutions within the 23 years of the existence of the House.

“In the first assembly, the House passed 33 bills, second assembly 20 bills, third assembly 31 bills, fourth assembly 45 bills, fifth assembly 48 bills and the present six assembly has so far passed 44 bills while 16 are in different stages of passage.

While commenting on the numbers of resolutions, he buttressed that the first assembly passed 136, the second assembly passed 71, the third assembly passed 81, the fourth assembly passed 57, the fifth assembly passed 57 and the present six assembly has so far passed about 50 resolutions.

Noting that all these bills and resolutions have a direct impact on the lives of the people of the state and other Nigerians,” he said.

Hon Omadefu called on the stakeholders and other people of the state to attend the event so as to acquit themselves with the full happenings of the House since inception.
