Coalition of Civil Society Groups ( CSOS) and Non- Governmental Organizations based in Keffi, Nasarawa State have called on the people of the state to rally behind the minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim to enable her continue to champion the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement yesterday in Lafia, the coalition chided those attacking the minister on social and conventional media to refrain from such distractive antics.
The coalition comprises Keffi Development Foundation (KDF), Keffi Peoples’ Forum (KPF) and the 70s 80s Keffi Elite Forum.
The statement which was signed by the Coalition chairman, Mr Lawal Ramalan-Maizabo said the minister has been critical in delivering the vision of the president as encapsulated in the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration.
He said through the vision, indigent persons including women and youths in the state are being productively engaged through various empowerment initiatives of the federal government, which the minister is an integral part.
Ramalan-Maizabo said the malicious attacks on the minister orchestrated by a few individuals for their selfish political ends, seek to mislead the public and undermine the unity of Nasarawa State, adding that no amount of smear campaign can diminish the minister’s record of service and the trust she is enjoying from President Tinubu and the Nigerian people.
The groups called on all well-meaning citizens of Nasarawa State to rise above divisive tendencies and support the minister in her national assignment.
“What our state needs at this crucial moment is unity, cooperation, and collective support for our representatives at all levels of governments, not campaigns of calumny designed to divide and distract their attention from delivering good governance to the people,” the statement said.
