Nasarawa Deputy Governor Empowers 240 Widows

Nasarawa State deputy governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe in continuation of his support to the downtrodden in the state especially the womenfolk, has again distributed N10,000 each to 240 widows.

Hon Adamu Apasa, chairman of the committee disclosed this during the distribution exercise to widows across the 14 electoral wards, an exercise held at the palace of Aren Eggon in Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba local government council respectively.

Akabe in his speech appealed to the beneficiaries to ensure the proper utilization of  the support given to them.

“Don’t use the money to eat chicken or suya, instead use it to boost your business”, he warned them.

Akabe said the support accorded them is from his  personal savings from his monthly salaries.

The deputy governor said he will ensure that he covers the 13 local governments of the state with the intent to reduce the plight of widows.

According to him, “ I have covered the entire five local governments ranging from Doma, Lafia, Obi, Keana, Awe in Nasarawa South senatorial district and Akwanga, Nasarawa’ Eggon and Wamba  in northern zone

One of the beneficiaries, Cecilia Williams, appreciated  the deputy governor for  extending his hands of fellowship to the less privileged in the state.
