The beneficiaries of this empowerment programme were carefully selected from the five electoral wards that constitute the Jenkwe development area in Obi local government council of Nasarawa State as part of activities marking his 54th birthday.

The celebration took place in his country home, Agwede, in Obi local government area of Nasarawa State.

The occasion was graced by dignitaries, including the deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the former governor of Nasarawa State, as well as traditional rulers and politicians.

Expressing his gratitude in a welcome address, Sonny Agassi thanked everyone for the opportunity to serve in various capacities within the state and for reaching the milestone of 54 years.

He pledged to continue giving back to the community and the state that shaped him, emphasizing that this act of giving would be an ongoing process.

Speaking at the event, Akabe congratulated Sonny Agassi on his 54th birthday and commended him for his humanitarian gesture of alleviating his people’s suffering.

He said, “I want to thank our brother for his humanitarian gesture. This is a sensitive act that deserves emulation. Although he cannot give to everyone, impacting the lives of 100 individuals is commendable.”

Dr Akabe, the special guest of honour, urged the beneficiaries to use the funds well and extend the same kindness to those who did not benefit directly.

Senator Al-Makura, the father of the day, also praised Sonny Agassi for remembering his community and providing financial support to alleviate their hardship.

He said, “Let me commend you for your generosity, for thinking about your community and giving back to them. I encourage all of us to give back to the communities that made us so that people can feel our impact.”

The occasion was marked by the symbolic presentation of a dummy check of ten million naira to some disabled beneficiaries, while cultural dancers entertained the audience.
