In a move to heal the wounds in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and unite the party ahead of future elections, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr. Danladi Jatau, has held a meeting with the stakeholders from western zone of the state.

The meeting which was held in Keffi town, the headquarters of the zone  had in attendance, Prof. Abdulkarim Kana, APC National Legal Adviser, Aliyu Bello, State Chairman of the party,  Abdulmumin Ari, Member House of Representatives for Nasarawa/Toto, the party’s senatorial candidate for the zone in the last elections, State Assembly lawmakers, LG Chairmen, LG Party   Chairmen, Commissioners among others.

Speaking during the event the speaker said the unity of the party is sacrosanct even as he urged members to jettisoned individual differences in order to build a more formidable front to win the 2027 elections.

He specifically called on party members who were aggrieved over the outcome of the primaries ahead of the 2023 general election and poll outcome to bury the hatchets in the interest of the peace and unity of the party.

He noted that members of the party have more to gain when they are united.

He also urged members to shun tendencies that tended to polarise and undermine the party, pointing out that such behaviour could give the opposition leeway to cause havoc.

Speaker Jatau appreciated the stakeholders for their support to his leadership as the State House of Assembly’s helsman.

“As a Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly who is also from western zone, I feel obligated to organize this critical stakeholders meeting of  APC to enable us unite ourselves for the victory of our party beyond 2027.

” Let’s unite for the progress of our party and the state at large.

” I also call for this meeting so that we can forgive ourselves and come together as one family” he added.

He also said that the meeting was aimed at drumming support for the government of Abdullahi Sule to succeed.

” I call for this meeting so that we can speak with one voice, support the government of His Excellency, Engr. A A  Sule to succeed.

” Governor Sule is doing credibly well. He has written the name of Nasarawa State in gold and in the map of the world for what he is doing” the speaker said.
