Forty-eight (48) hours after suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti–Uduaghan addressed the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) in New York, United States, the Senate on Thursday overwhelmingly passed vote of confidence on the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had claimed at the IPU that her suspension was due to raising issue of sexual harassment against President of the Nigerian Senate, Akpabio.

In passing the confidence vote on the Senate President, the upper legislative chamber also urged Nigerians not to distract it with the issue of sexual harassment raised against Akpabio by Natasha as the matter was already in the court of law.

The senate said this prevents the Senate based on Order 40 of its standing rules from dabbling into the matter.
