The National commission for the coordination and control of the proliferation of small arms , ammunition and light weapons (NATCOM) on Thursday , passed a vote of confidence on the Director General , Dr Baba Muhammed saying he is the best man to lead the commission.
This contained a communique jointly signed by the national, zonal and State coordinators,Commodore Idris Musa on behalf of staff of the commission after their annual convention and shared with journalists in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of the commission,, Commodore IMusa said all staff and members of NATCOM after critical assessment of Dr Baba Mohammed’s leadership capacity and his firm belief in due process and rule of law has no choice but to pass a vote of confidence on him to continue his good work as the Director General (DG) .
All the zonal and state Directors pledged their complete support to his leadership.
The communique stressed that Dr Baba Mohammed is a seasoned administrator, and a public servant of great repute” who flaunts impressive and unblemished track records throughout his career in the civil service.
“Having Dr Baba as the DG did not surprise various stakeholders who have followed his trajectory in service and his immense contributions to NATCOM.
“Dr Baba Mohammed is a firm believer of due process and a leader with a sound knowledge of the rule of law, having noticed the illegality contained in the operation of NATFORCE and consequential implications of such activities.
“He defended a bill before the 9th National Assembly seeking the establishment of a national commission for the proliferation of small arms, ammunition and light weapons bill 2020 (SB. 283) in line with ECOWAS convention.”
In his remarks,Dr. Baba Mohammed appreciated the nation’s leadership at all levels as well as officers and men of the commission for believing and keeping faith in NATCOM.
