Navante Donates N70m Equipment To FUT Minna

Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna has received N70 million gas chromatograph for technological innovation from Navante Oil and Gas Company Ltd, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Presenting the items to the university at the Bosso Campus, the company’s deputy general manager, Mr Chinedu Chidebere Ikejeani said, “We are working in partnership with Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board to carry out a capacity development initiatives-CDI for an equipment needed in technology development hosted at the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna.”

He said it is aimed at technology development and research in the university, adding that the same items were donated to five federal universities in the country.

He listed the universities so far assisted to include Federal University of Technology Owerri, Federal University of Technology Akure, Niger Delta University in Bayelsa and Adama Modibbo University in Adamawa State.

He said the purpose of assisting the technology-oriented universities is to help in the technical and technological development of manpower in the industry and also to engage the teeming graduates in the industries.

He assured that the company will continue to be of support to the development of research in the technological institutions across the country.

The head of corporate relations unit of the company, Mr Obasi Okereke, said the company in its commitment to the development of technology and research in the country’s technological-oriented universities spent close to N70 million based on current exchange rate.

Receiving the items on behalf of the vice chancellor of FUT Minna, the deputy vice chancellor (Administration) Prof.  Uno Essang Uno, commended the company for considering FUT Minna for the gesture assuring that the items will be channelled towards the development of research in the institution.
